Shared content is of great importance for structures
where information is reused and repurposed. Reuse and repurposing includes
system compatibility issues concerning platforms, operating systems,
and media for information interchange. Also included are the user and
the media (viewer) requirements where information may be repurposed
for several software applications and user applicability and security.
With respect for training and education requirements,
the Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) attempts to overcome
these issues. SCORM references a set of specifications and guidelines
for the development, packaging and delivery of high quality reusable,
interoperable, durable and accessible education and training materials.
This provides a common and flexible framework for developing, maintaining
and sharing training packages.
DynaMark has been using the principles of shared content
since our inception. Our primary ambition is to maximize the reusability
of information through the use of single-sourced information. We have
realized this goal by the use of strong data categorization (descriptive
tag sets and attributes) and the relational mapping of these tag sets.
This allows for a model-driven approach for data reuse, interoperability
and interchange.
